Please tell me this isnβt the year when a depressing, slow paced revenge movie like The Power of the Dog can win in the face of uplifting films like West Side Story and Licorice Pizza. PThere is no comparison in terms of the directing ability West Side required vs the other films. Tick, Tickβ¦ Boom! should also be a shoo in, one of the most moving fils of the year. Hopefully the voters will choose the films that helped to heal us, the ones that packed the biggest emotional punches vs. the ones the critics always seem to favor (like last years Nomadland, another dystopian movie we really didnβt need right now).

This is your opinion. Iβve watched all five, and in my opinion, The Power of the Dog is a masterpiece. Itβs such a thrilling, sensitive, visually stunning piece of cinema. Of course, itβs for people who are comfortable with ambivalence and mystery, who do not go for obviousness in storytelling. Of the other four, I loved Licorice Pizza and was impressed with Duneβs visual clarity. West Side Story was a disappointment, mostly due to its weak scrip and unwillingness to make further changes to make the film more cinematic (theatre is an ensemble art form, films focus on the protagonist/s). Belfast was absolutely average. So nope, in my opinion, Campion should be honoured for her glorious vision. And I believe she will be.

I know right? Out of all the BP nominee contenders this year, βDune,β βWest Side Story,β βTick Tick Boomβ and βBelfastβ will all be the most remembered than βPower of the Dog.β Canβt wait for WSS to crash Disney+ the moment it arrives on there soon.

Free Guy was pretty memorable for an original movie. Why canβt that get in? Donβt have a good day have a great day.

Hahaha youβre just a bunch people with bad taste hahaha Power of the dog and lost daughter are great films, if you canβt deal with regular pace like life then thatβs your problem and calling Nomadland dystopian hahaha the ignorance, the film is quite the opposite, just a reflection of today but well again, youβre just a bunch of people with bad taste hahaha
