on paul bartel’s “eating raoul” (1982)

yeah so i dated this girl in college who kind of looked like catherine deneuve except i was so horribly bad at sex and i could never fuck her without having extreme anxiety about it because she was just so primarily hot

like there was this one time where we were about to fuck but i just kept sweating and i couldn’t get over how it kept dripping on her but she was just like “it’s ok, it’s ok don’t worry about it” but i literally just was so caught up in it that we had to completely stop because i was on the verge of having a full-on panic attack

BUT ya know, looking back on it now, it’s funny — because i remember that part of my life in the same way i remember paul bartel’s performance in this and maybe even the movie as a whole simply due to the fact that i was never able to fully see it through with that girl or as roger ebert states in his review “it doesn’t quite go that last mile”
